What is Polyurea?

Polyurea spray elastomer is a relatively new industrial plastic that is widely used in automotive, marine, transportation, infrastructure, military, commercial, and residential applications. It can be handled and walked on within minutes. Water may be introduced immediately upon completion of a liner. Polyurea is durable and highly resistant to abrasion, impact, tearing, or chemical attack.

Polyurea is waterproof. It has a service temperature range of -60 F to over 350 F. It has up to 700% elongation, meaning it can stretch 7 times its original length. It has a tensile strength of 2500 PSI. Unlike polyester epoxies or polyurethane, it is essentially unaffected by damp or cold substrates during application. Polyurea is kind to the ozone layer, it has zero volatile organic compounds, and has excellent stability to UV exposure.
